New Value Generated from Traditional Techniques
富山県高岡市は鋳物の街として400年余りの歴史を持っています。我々はそんな高岡で約70年に渡り着色仕上げの専門として、美術彫刻作品、キャラクター作品、仏像、胸像、仏具、工芸品、建築装飾品、銘板など、立体物全般への箔押し(金箔、プラチナ箔、色箔等)、古代色着色(緑青青銅色、おはぐろ色、古金色等)を行なってきました。中でも日本の箔押し技法では難しいとされる、箔の継ぎ目やシワがほとんど目立たない鏡面仕上げや、緻密な溝・際まで貼る丁寧な箔押し技術は、多くのお客様から評価を頂いてきました。現在は、これまで培ってきた“伝統的”な技法や知識を、FRP(繊維強化プラスチック)やカーボン、ナイロンなどの“現代”の素材にも応用させることで、その技術を活かせるシーンを拡大しています。
Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture has a history of over 400 years as a casting town. In Takaoka, we have been running a business specialized in gilding (e.g. Gold leaf, Platinum leaf) and coloring in Japanese ancient color (e.g. Verdigris color, Ohaguro color, and Old gold color) to the art sculpture, character works, Buddhist statues, Buddhist alter fittings, busts, craft works, architectural metal ornaments, commemorative plaques, etc. Especially, our meticulous gilding techniques—achieving a mirror-like finish with minimal visible seams or wrinkles, which is considered challenging in Japanese gilding, and precisely applying gold leaf even into fine grooves and edges—have been highly praised by a number of clients. Currently, we are focusing in gilding, and extending our fields by applying ‘traditional’ techniques and knowledges to ‘modern’ materials such as FRP, nylon, and carbon.

‘Gilding’ and ‘Coloring’ are the final process of producing the artworks, and we believe that this process can improve their quality. Under this responsibility for the final process, we provide the techniques that maximizes value of the products.
